they don't fruit in winter. I had tomatoes for 2 years and peppers for 3. they don't have many fruits if kept so long, so not really worth it. also tomatoes don't taste good in cool weather.
it seems I always find a place without rain. I also bought land without any trees and on the western part of the hill. only my solar panels enjoy it, lol.
my starters are stunted due to cold weather. now we have summer heat. I wonder if I'll have any tomatoes and peppers this year.
I first have to build goat shed and 2-3 coops then I'll have time for gardening.
I had 2 broodies (dutch bantam) sitting together. 3 chicks hatched: 1 black silkie and 2 dutch bantams). I separated 1 broody with the chicks and left the other one on the eggs. some eggs were set/laid 2-3 days later. I hope to hatch more silkies.

as I said before if they survive hatching they don't have health issues. mine are about 4 years old.
not every crested bird is vaulted. some of my silkies are not. they hatched without crest and got it later. problem with vaulted birds is...
