Actually I will be in Jefferson City the 13th, 14th, if you want one I can bring him with me. I have another person who is interested as well, and I am only keeping 1 of the 3, I only had one pullet hatch with the bunch and she is surely tired of the 'cockerel' wars. So I have 2 'extras'...
Thank you for all the tips friends! I have lots of Sevin dust and have been dusting my Mille Rooster all week almost everyday along with his chicken hutch, I have the Flea and tick shampoo. Today he is getting a bath, and then will get ivermectin pour on after he dries out from his bath, then...
So I have a question, my flock is having a tendency now to have kind of curled or swept back neck feathers......
Do I need to NOT breed those hens with the wavy locks?
The roosters in the pic did not make the move with me....except one who had the right personality.
...haven't been on in ages,
Mites have ruined my year! Breeding and showing plans all by the wayside while everyone gets treated!

I feel your pain! For the last 2 Missouri shows I went to, I was the only grown up with d'uccles. The juniors are starting to appreciate this bird though! :)
They'll be fine unti puberty hits, when the hen's combs start turning red. that's when they'll start getting into it. But not all males fight with each other if one is submissive.
Ah yes, there is the porcelain heritage coming out! Now you can provide some porcelains to peeps in your area! That is so cool you got 3 of each! I have so many broodies raising chicks right now it's crazy with all my 'broody' cages. Still love the babies though! It will be hard deciding...
Yes, to telling gender at 5 weeks. For the standard of the breed, d'uccles are supposed to have tiny or almost nonexistent wattles. One of my mature roosters at the show last weekend has a wattle about the size of a pea, and the judge made the comment 'watch wattle size'
