Jed,my young drake is also sex-crazed.. He has 3 girls and the other day I caught him waddling after one of my chicken hens. She wasn't going to let that happen, and neither was I! I have heard that a chicken can die from being mated with a drake- something about the anatomy. I waved my arms and...
Ok! And take note of Edith's activities.. Within the next 4 weeks, if Edith is a boy, you will see more roo characteristics (trying to mount females, fighting with other males, possible crowing etc.).
When they're younger, males and females will do this a little bit, but roos do it more frequently. I still think it's too early to give up hope, I still say wait til week 14. :)

Oh! I am sorry to hear that you had a medical situation. I am glad that you went to the hospital and got it taken care of! There will be plenty of next times, if you like to keep chickens! I hope you are well on your way on the mending path!
She's not laying yet.. I'm excited to see if she will lay a blue egg or a green egg.. She is an EE. Her father was a bearded EE and her mother was a silver laced wyandotte. :)
Thank you! I have read that some people used Frontline. I didn't know it was safe for meat chickens though! :) Out of curiousity, how much did you dose each chicken?
