It would be a good idea to get chickens now so you can start getting eggs in the spring. Another thing is how big is your chicken coop. If it is big enough to let the chickens move around then yes get more. But if it is small wait till february,march.
I have five dominique bantams. These are great chickens to have at home. I have one problem. They like to get up on our deck and poop all over it. Is there a way to stop them from going on the deck.

Keep the chickens in the coop for a couple days. After a couple days let them out. when it comes to night time they will go in there by themself. Then you can just close the door.
