OKAY -- Here's the link to the new thread where we will discuss all things lavender in leghorn and leghorn related breeds:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/lavender-based-leghorn-breeding-improvement-discussion.1339994/
I'll ask BYC to close this thread up so we can use it for...
Thank you GaryDean26 -- Have said it before and will say it again...you're a genius. Good memory! Perhaps those looking for this variety could contact him to see where he sold them -- and follow that trail.
Seems like stuff happens fast -- but then again it's been some long years gone past.
OH--just remembered...someone in the PNW - maybe the Seattle area was interested in Rose Comb (Or maybe he was in Eastern Washington or Oregon where the weather is rougher. He had prize winning browns and preferred Rosecomb - because of Frostbite.
He was a terriffic breeder of beautiful...
Definitely -- I got some Isabellas from Cree57i and also some from CJWaldon and as The Moonshiner says -- Cree57i got hers directly from Buddy Henry. .
Both sets were superb chicks.
Neither of them has Isabellas any longer as I understand,
But -- then when you think about it -- everyone...
That is such a good idea.
You are 100% correct that these Lav Patterned Isabella Duckwings ARE like the Isabella, or Isabel, or Isabelle....(so many names) with the exception that these are barred.
Hmmm -- would people find it confusing if they were in one thread. I don't think so as long as...
It's actually beautiful here. 75 and sunny. Had ice on the bird-bath one day and it killed some tender vines by my tomato plant is still hanging in there. You've had snow. OMG -- You are made of tougher stuff then I am.

My niece sent me this article
https://insteading.com/blog/chickens-that-lay-blue-eggs/?ck_subscriber_id=609094710
If you look at it, you will see that they have an "Opal" -- as a blue-egg layer.
As I recall, only Candace had those, so I suspect that particular chicken traces back to her. How...

The chicks that I got from her were so healthy -- they could have opened the shipping box and set up housekeeping on their own (well nearly).
Hi Brahma Chicken 5000--- no, i will be continuing with --LPID-B (Lavender Patterned Isabel Duckwing - Barred)--- It's all I really know. I will be hatching out some of these guys and working to improve them.
:O)
I guess, I kind of said it in an ambiguous way. These chickens are the result of...
By all means 'just do it'. You won't regret it at all.
Candace is one of the sources from which I got Isabel's early on. Candace kept the blue-egg genes and crests and I discarded both.
I just "got back" some of my project birds ---and I'm going to start up with them again. IMO they are...
In the event you came upon this thread, and didn't know, the top 4 Lavender Patterned Isabel Duckwings (LPID) from my flock have flown to The Moonshiner's flock.
In future they may make an appearance in Moonshiner's fabulous thread about Leghorns (since Legbars are nearly Leghorns and LPIDS...
RESULTS are back from TRACHAEL SWAB TESTS !!!!!

Tracheal swabs.....
Thought I could photo document this but instead --with the way the outdoor light was, and the angles and the small size of the tracheae, I didn't get one decent picture. Swabs were delivered to the lab yesterday though...so here's hoping all these tests will come out...
Rainy day shots --
The last time I posted this guy - he was almost out of tail feathers. Finally it got down to 1, then none. Now he's grown back a nice tail and it's the females turn to molt -- and Iris, I noticed yesterday is just now starting to molt big time. Her neck has a lot of...
Actually you can swab multiple birds on one swab to save money. For my part, since I'm talking about breeders, I would want to pay for individual tests, so that paperwork (test result) could apply to that exact individual chicken. Just one of my things.
:highfive:
For me it is more...
