IT HATCHED! IT HATCHED!!!!! yup, yesterday my wax covered egg hatched! it spent 10 days with 1/3 of it covered in wax and made it!!
I think this was the chick? but who knows now! LOL
I'm glad it helped you, but the real people to thank are all these awesome BYCers who answered, THANKS GUYS!
And, LOL, I know what you mean about preforming surgery, I went diggin through the garage looking for an unscented candle, finaly found one in the shape of a surfboard (Don't ask me...
YAY, I JUST CANDLED, DAY 16, AND THE BABY IS STILL MOVING!!! IT'S ALIVE! WITH THE WAX ON IT WAS HARD TO SEE IN, BUT I'M 90% SURE I SAW MOVEMENT! I'LL UPDATE THIS WEEKEND IF IT HATCHES!
Thank you all so much, the wax is on, and I don't think I will be candling that one anymore unless there is a smell, I'm afraid to touch it, lol. I'm keepin my fingers crossed!
Ok, I found an unscented candle, and I covered the cracks, but almost one third to half the egg is covered in wax, is that ok? will the baby still be able to get out?
I was just candling, and I bumped the incubator while removing an egg, and it slipped, fell about 6 inches to the table, and cracked, the crack is very apparent, but no leakage, so I don't believe the membrane broke. Should I toss it, I feel so bad, because there is a definate baby in there...
