    WARNING: Cackle Hatchery

My local orschlens gave me an order catalog from Hoovers where they get them. Told me I could have them delivered at my home or at the store and they'd call me when came in. I raced home and made my "wish list", then pared it WAY down and ordered my 25 chicks lol.

    WARNING: Cackle Hatchery

I ordered from Hoovers and lucked out got them the following day and box in good shape. All lived. They are shipped in very obvious holed boxes and I could hear my chicks as soon as I came in the post office. Our rural carrier can't deliver, we have to come into the local post office to pick...

Olive Egger with no apparent tail - what breed? Also, male or female?

Know this is an extremely old post...wondering if anything was ever announced about this boy/girl? I have a sapphire olive egger from Hoovers that is a Cockerel (comb) but finally checked his honey as thought he didn't have any tail feathers yet. He does have some. But noticed he has no tail...

All black barred rock at 8 weeks.

Good info to keep in mind. Thanks 🙂. I'm not sure how she got mixed in the barred rock in (from Hoovers or if orschlens employee didn't pay attention. She def had aracauna in her as she had no tail stump at all. She just seemed to have a weaker health from the get go. Did change water couple...

    The New Crew.

Welp, the OG 8 hens and 1 too (soon to be dumplings as he's gotten very territorial and aggressive towards me) were definitely my babies, but we all know how that chicken math works. Soooo I did a "thing" and March 5th got my order in of 25 not so OG crew members in. 😳🤭 Ordered from Hoovers. Had...

    Feral kitten

My son's 12 year old grey tabby loves when I hatch or get new chicks. She insists she introduced herself right away and welcomes them to our menagerie. 🙄🤭

Hello. He's absolutely gorgeous!! Very similar to my roo who I've been told on here is very likely a game fowl / americauna or EE mix.

    I’ve got an imposter

I swear some can look as guilty as any person or dog when they get caught doing something they know they not supposed to!! Lol caught one of my americaunas trying to dig along run line (yes set up so nothing can dig in or out but it's the idea I've had serious talks with him about this behavior...

    WARNING: Hoovers hatchery

I agree chicks that are shipped during cold with out heat packs is not right. First time ordering this year from Hoovers for a hatch date of March 5. I got them 2 days later and all 25 were chirping and happy. Sad id imagine to open your shipper and find dead birds. I guess I lucked out. Looking...

    Sapphire Gem pullet or roo?

The white one is a week younger then the others and she's one from my first go at incubating eggs. Afraid to mess up so only did the one egg for first try lol. Her name is Lucky...she's lucky I didn't kill her during my trial run 🤣😂. Her dad is the roo and I think her mom is one of my buffs...

    Sapphire Gem pullet or roo?

Thanks for the quick response! I got 5 sapphire gem straight run, 10 sapphire olive egger (5 each male/females) and 10 listed as Americauna (same sexing as SOE) 9 weeks and a day ago. Of course they came all in one carry box. I didn't know then, or more likely forgot, about the white spot on...
