I would say he/she is hot based on your description but if you are worried about it being something else I would take the drive to the vet. Hopefully, someone else on here can be of a bit more help
She gets layer feed and has oyster out free choice all day and at night (when it’s warm enough for water not to freeze). She’s never had a problem before so i think it’s a fluke!
Again, THANK YOU for your help!
Here’s more pictures of the white “thing” as well as the soft egg she laid a while (3-6 hours) later. The “thing” doesn’t seem to move at all and seemed like a membrane when i opened it. As far as Sadie, my girl that laid it, she is acting completely normal and...
My around one year old female is breathing through her butt, drinking a lot, not eating, limping, trembling, and has fluffy butt feathers. She did not lay yesterday or today. But still seems to be pooping fine. When I put her in a warm bath I could feel a small lump on the left side of her chest...

But, the part that is worrying me is that you intend to keep them on the lake. I used to live on the lake as well but NEVER let my ducks near it. While I have heard of this...
With ducks and chickens alike, it takes a bit of time. It varies depending on the duck or chicken. When my duck started laying she was consistent almost right away. Just give her a bit of time. :)
A while ago I noticed my duck seemed to have an extra toenail growing from her middle toenail. I didn't think much of it at the time. But now she seems to have grown a small toe from beneath her middle toe with a toenail (see picture). Thoughts??
