    Question about showing chickens.

So in the rules for showing chickens in my state, Missouri, the roosters are not allowed to have spurs. How do people manage this? I'm asking because I would like to start showing, and my birds are still very young. So if there is a process that I need to start, I can.

My own variety of meat birds

I originally planned to mix my Columbian Rock and Dark Cornish chickens to see if I got a decent meat bird from them, however this spring I was lucky enough to find a group of grown Freedom Rangers. A Rooster and four hens, all one year old. My new plan is to raise 3 groups of meat chicks by...

    Egg went bad?

I’m on day 13 and I candled my eggs again, and most of them have very strong veins. There were a few that I think went bad though? There’s just a small dark dot, and no veins that I can see. Are the quits? I’m afraid to open them.

    Adorae’s Family Flock and Farm

Welcome everyone! This is my attempt to catalogue my journey into chicken husbandry. I will be using my little section here as a way to consolidate all of my chicken project ideas. I am going to attempt to dabble in making my own meat birds. I have enough room to have more than one flock, so I...

Can someone explain the difference to me?
