So final tally on the “Lavender“ ameraucanas: two blue and one black! I think the breeder may have pulled the eggs from the blue/black/splash pen instead of the lavender/black lavender split pen! Oh well they are cute nonetheless I love their little owly faces!😍
See some of you in the June...
I am hatching blue eggs as well, and they are harder then Marans to see anything. I just went by weight for the most part and weighed them altogether, then divided by number of eggs to get an average weight and plotted that weight on the graph. I almost culled one of the eggs when the individual...
First lavender Ameraucana baby is out of the shell and in the dryer! At this point I’ll be happy with one chick out of 14 so happy one hatched at all!:wee
You know you are old when you have to explain what "shrink to fit" jeans are and tell the "youngsters" about the time that phones were mounted on the wall with a cord attached!:)

please post photos of your little fluffed up chicks that made...

Photo attached shows how well she stands up now! Walking just fine though she is a little slower than the others but I expect her to catch up. She is a black version...
I just tossed the one silkie egg that did not hatch here on DAY 24. I was 99% sure it was dead, no movement when I candled it, but gave it a few days anyway. It never pipped. Did the float test on it today, it did not pass. There are different schools of thought, but if you can give it a few...
