Yet another Deathlayer question.
I’ve noticed one of my pure golden deathlayers has a white tail tip, is that normal? Does it mean she’s not pure? The first two are’t her that’s my white Jersey giant Deathlayer mix but she looks the same.
Last picture is the best I have of the pure. She is...
Hatched mid April for all but the Marans. So abt 3mo. Marans are a couple weeks younger.
Dang 😫 thankfully Lemon and Tree aren’t my favorites but they’re still pretty
Any guesses on these guys? I know they’re too young to be 100% but doesn’t hurt to guess! I have a few more but I already know their genders. All but the Marans hatched mid April, the Marans are a few weeks younger
Penny is a black sex link(mom) Swedish flower(dad)
Bloo is a splash maran(mom)...
My babies lose interest once they’re in the grass (they graduate from brooder to chick run at 1mo, they graduate to free ranging with the flock at 2-3 months depending on breed)
They LOVE beads and bells. Anything they can jump and try to grab. Mirror had some interest for a short time- SUPER...
I messaged the breeder with updated photos on them and he confirmed they’re both hens! Just different shades as said. Teto(lighter) is still more of a golden and has more barring while Yakul is more red around the top of her head and less/smaller barring. Both are super pretty though
By the looks of it, I’m guessing maybe olive egger but didn’t inherit the cheek fluff? And maybe cream legbar for Dola? I can’t tell if she’s crested or just has teenage fluff. Whatever it is it’s not a dominant color it seems.. I wonder if Dola is pure (if she isn’t a cream legbar)
With her being a white jersey giant I’d imagine she has silver? The dad is golden. Prismo (the chick) is the only one I have of the DL x JG so I’m really hoping she’s a she 🥲
After reading that, I had to go catch my chick who has a pea/rose combed momma and single combed dad and I can totally see that now!! Mav (the blue chick) has the same just not as noticeable!
Her dad should give her what I’ve referred to as a “cushion comb” and I figured that totally canceled out the single comb from the mom but I guess not! I’ll try to remember to update this when she’s older
Prismo is a golden deathlayer(rooster) over white jersey giant(hen). She has always had a flat comb but I just recently noticed she has a single spike sticking out of it. Has anyone seen this before?
This is a golden Deathlayer(rooster) over lavender Orpington(hen), she’s about a month old.. maybe a little under.
Will she develop any color other than black with white/grey down feathers?
