Lost one of our old girls today. I knew she was getting up there (6 1/2 yrs old) and not feeling her best. RIP Girly Girl. :love We enjoyed getting to know you! Interesting that her sister, Surly Girl has been broody lately. :idunno
So sorry you lost Clair. I actually prefer to lose a chicken the way you lost Clair, I must say. I want to think they just lay down and go to sleep. It's so hard to say good bye to the little darlings. ❤️
I have lost two leghorns this year to heart disease, or whatever caused their...
No little fawn in sight this morning. I'm assuming she was united with her mom. Everyone around here who watches the deer regularly says this is normal. I haven't seen it before, but I don't watch them like they do. We have some people with cameras up just to watch the wildlife.
We have a young week old fawn wandering around without mama doe this evening. Hope they find each other. Neighbors think they will. They have seen this happen before with other fawns. Better to leave them alone they say. The fawn is soooo tiny.

That's definitely a "crazy cochin" in your avatar! What is that beauty's name?

What a battle you have waged! I hope it's over now!
I decided to plant my garden from seed this year, direct sowing in the soil. Probably not a good idea in Washington. Looks like the beans, lettuce and cabbage are coming up, but I'm not seeing any signs of tomatoes or herbs. It's an...
It was good. I got the tostado. First meal of the day. Sticking with my diet and still enjoying a good restaurant. I call that success! Mike got a chorizo burrito plate and loved it, so it was a win.
