Does anyone have heritage turkeys? I've been looking in my area for a while with no luck. I am looking for Royal Palm, Bourbon Red, and/or Sweetgrass. I could do eggs, poults, or adults. Thanks!
I finally got with the program and set my first batch of 30 Iowa Blue eggs tonight. I also ordered Blue Copper Marans eggs from a breeder in Arizona for layers and will be setting them Saturday when they come. So excited!
Does anyone know of a locker or individual in north central Iowa that processes meat birds? I've heard of Amish around Northwood that do it but have no way of contacting them. TIA!
If anyone is looking for Iowa Blues I have a trio and pair available that are just over a year old and laying. Also have lots and lots of started cockerels... good for the freezer down the road or someone's breeding program!!
Thanks chickensfinally, I did end up finding a friend who wanted them :). If there's anyone who wants to get started in W/BW Ameraucanas, I have 15 6 week old chicks and a three year old trio that I'm looking to sell to make room for my Iowa Blues. I've had 3 people so far say they would take...

Haha, I know how you feel! The hens are Easter Eggers and Barred Rocks, and the two roosters are a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and a Silver Iowa Blue. I've kept a few from this pen before... the hens are great layers and the cockerels turn out huge!
Would anybody want 8 one week old cross-bred chicks? I've been having a few incubator issues and was working them out with eggs that came from my layer flock. I'm located in Manly, but am going to Mason City Tuesday. Please pm me for details and more info.
They're a package of skittles; a little...
My flock is doing much better. I haven't had anyone get sick in the past week, so I hope whatever it was has blown over. I'm going to go ahead and stay under quarantine for the next month to be safe.
I'm assuming you're wanting large fowl stock? My advice is to get a little bit of everything, and then after 6 months or so decide what you like the best. That's how I ended up with Iowa Blues and Ameraucanas. Keep in mind Easter Eggers are a mixed breed, so if you want purebred go for...
