anyone know how long it takes a "polish" chick from idealpoultry to mature? he's about 10 weeks old i know he has a ways to go. but am hoping to have him with my hens once mature.
Right now the hens chase him around if i put him out with them.
Any ideas of what age he should mature at...
Exactly it's normal for chickens to do this when broody and she's only had her chicks now 3 days. It doesn't go away over night. And it doesn't mean they are unhealthy either it means they are broody and have been on their eggs for a while. although mine was on golfballs, still same effect...
Every broody hen i've had shoots their poop out instead of getting off the nest all the way. No it's not hummingbird water it's water and food color. As i stated before my niece and nephew like to color the water.
All my chickens are vetted and are completely healthy.

No pix yet but i got some EE's at dels today :D Got 3 added them with the other three under the hen she was like what more babies why are you touching them give them here LOL
It's red food color in the water, my niece and nephew like doing that it doesn't hurt the chicks. The jar is very dirty thanks to the hen. she enjoys shooting her poop and even washing it daily it ends up like that after an hour *sigh* she aims her butt at it.
...them out longer. Mine are all outside by 5 weeks age usually unless I have one I bonded to way to much. Rue my rooster i'm building a $100 um *cough cough* planter ;) to live in (sound proof) he hangs out some days on the dog bed, chasing the dogs around. he's 10 weeks old now i...
Went and got 3 chicks at dels yesterday. :) They are pullets is all i know cause they were like what breeds do you want and i said "pullet" they gave me a weird look until I explained that they never turn out to be what they claim anyway so i just want females.
My hen is happy as can be...
I wish you were closer to Tacoma. I'd love more eggs to hatch my current ones in the incubator are 2 days late and i don' tsee any signs of hatching :( My incubator got unplugged first day of lockdown by accident (not sure how).
still nobody has hatched here, they were due wednesday night. So i'm going to give them til tuesday then do an eggtopsy if nobody hatches *sigh* i'm hoping someone hatches soon.
I can't really follow them because If I'm outside they follow me around. They love me, they love getting petted and touched. I don't even have a big yard i just can't find where they are laying them. Although yesterday there was one duck egg in with the chicken eggs :)
No but the other day they got unplugged so they might be a day behind because of that. After it was found unplugged i candled them and 3 out of 3 that i checked were moving around still so i assume it didn't effect them.
Just waiting on them to hatch. since i haven't slept the past few...
Beautiful muscovies. I haven't found where mine are nesting in my yard. But i've come to the conclusion they are nesting somewhere when free and i'm just not finding it anywhere. Hopefully the dogs will leave it alone and they will hatch out.
It wouldn't let me copy anyones posts so... To whom it applies
I put my compost in plastic totes with no lid (holes drilled in the sides 1 inch from the bottom for water to drain) and then cover with 1 inch of shredded paper. it keeps the smell down and paper also rots, the covering of paper...
Yes and no. I have experience with only being able to hold down liquids and due to this have been able to get most of the nutrition I need to survive with only liquid.
My suggestion is get something with protein for the morning. Either hemp protein, or a protein shake. Then I drink V8...
