Thanks for the info. I will try tying a zucchini. I have caught 2 young raccoons in the foot traps baited with marshmallows and fishy can cat food. And a possum in the live trap baited the same. But I have trail cam pics of a BIG raccoon that I want out of here.
I'm having the same problem with raccoons. But I have no problem putting lead into that head. They killed my very sweet young rooster. I have a trail cam and it showed 3 or 4 out there one night. I have only trapped a young one in a dog safe foot trap. They go around the box traps.
good...
Thanks. Dealing with raccoon is normal here. It's just such a large pile. Hope it's not a bear even thou they have been scene a few miles from here.
Linda
Hope it's a raccoon. I have several traps, cage and foot. But nothing for a bear. I know they have been seen 5-6 miles from here. Hope to know tomorrow. Thanks for reply.
Linda
Thank you. It looks like it's full of berries. Like raccoon scat, just a lot bigger. I have camera and live trap baited with sardines and foot traps bated with marshmallows. So maybe tomorrow I will know
Thank you for the reply. I just put out a trail cam on that area. I'm sure it will return. It's just much larger than any I have seen in the past.
Thanks again, Linda
This is from over night outside the run. Chickens were looked up in coop. It is large size poop. What animal did this? I live in the Piney woods in SE Arkansas. I placed a 12x1" ruler by it but you can not read numbers. Any ideas? Have raccoons, possum, and coyotes, In the area.
Thanks...
I used exterior 3/4 in plywood painted with porch n deck paint. Has lasted 9 years so far.
My dad built a pontoon barge (floor) 12x24 with the same plywood and paint. Stayed in the water at least 20+ years.
My last free range loss was a coyote. Grabbed a hen at a dead run. Hen never saw it coming. The rest of the flock did not seem to know, they acted normal. I would not know what happened to her but saw it as it disappeared into the brush/woods.
I recently lost a Banty hen to a coyote during the day. Grabbed her at a run, never slowed down. She never saw it coming. I only saw it as it disappeared into the woods. When they have young to feed, they get brave
Geese are bid chickens under neath. They sound and act tough but usually do not fight anything. My geese free range during day and are put up at night. I'm more worried about the fox and coyotes here in
