I finally tossed the green egg! I never could see through it! I need to order a better light for my dark shelled eggs!
My final count: 16 of the 17 eggs that went into lock down hatched with no assistance! 3 of the 5 eggs that Alice was sitting on hatched with no assistance. The other 2 never...
I'm in Okla and both TSC and Atwoods chicks looked really pitiful this year! They looked so rough, I wasn't even tempted! I learned my lesson last year bringing in new chicks! Hope yours make it!!!
Soooo...We have had all but 2 eggs hatch now, and one of those is pipped! The only one with no action is the Olive egg! I'll leave it in there for a few more days and see what happens! The Americauna egg that cracked hatched with no trouble!
If this last pipped egg hatches, 16 of the 17 eggs...
3 pipped eggs left to go! They are cheering on their Americauna sister (🤞)! Besides her, I still have a possible wyandotte and a mystery chick to go! Both are pipped at the narrow end but doing fine. They were given to me by a friend, and I did not rest them after travel. I found out after they...
I've got 8 left in the brooder and 5 have pipped INCLUDING the Americauna egg!!! 🤗 1 of the 3 left I was iffy about, and another is an olive egg that I never could see anything but shadows in!
1 more hatched and I have 4 more pipped (not counting the Americauna egg that I'm 99% sure was cracked and not pipped☹️).
Also my incubator is DISGUSTING! I will definitely be reevaluating my numbers next time I hatch! We were very crowded! When they say it will hold 22 eggs, I don't think...
My dancing egg finally hatched! She had a rough go of it, and there was a little blood on the paper towel afterwards but it stopped on it's own!
I have 4 more pipped also!
I put a warm wet paper towel on this egg last night and moved all the others to my broody silkie Dottie! She is a happy...
They are just so cute!
In the 2nd pic you can see a pip. It's at the wrong end of the egg but the chick seems to be doing fine in there! I can see it's little beak poke out occasionally. Any advice on if I should intervene or not?
3 More have hatched since last night! And I have 2 zips working their way out! The 2nd one to hatch was a tiny mixed bantam egg that I wasn't sure had anything going on but I put into lock down JIC! Glad I did! The 3 and 4 are bantam cochins
Incubator eggs are on lockdown!
I have one maran mix egg that's rocking and squirming (no pip), but they aren't due til Friday/Saturday-ish. The first egg that Alice hatched (several days early) was also from my blue maran mix Mary Kate! Her twin Ashley laid the Olive egg that hatched 2nd!
