Do you know how blue mottled works? If I have a blue mottled large fowl over a blue hen? Would it have the same outcome as the chart? Blue to blue is 25, 50, 25
I’m debating between a black cochin rooster and a blue cochin rooster (blue has leakage)… to breed over my blue, black, buff, white, partridge hens.
What are your thoughts?
Is it possible to breed out the leakage problem?
My two sweet girls decided to go broody about 12 days ago. With the heat of summer, I decided to go out and buy some chicks. I tried looking for bantam cochins, but couldn’t find any quickly to help them. Soooo, we found silkies.
Mine do it when they run out of water for more than a few hours (usually when we leave and someone is supposed to water and forgets).
They will be okay, they are just over drinking and don’t have the space for all the water they are taking in.
We are too (: they go out into the second field while the first one attached to the barn dries up, Then we bring them back over.

I wanted to sell some chicks. I did a hatch last year with my BCM to BCM and sold those - 100% hatch rate, came out great. Then I did olive eggers which was another great hatch with 8 out of 9 hatching, which also all sold.
Someone said that BCM with Barred hens create a sexlink? But haven’t...
