I have tried on numerous occasions to change my email address but always get a message saying there was an error processing this request. I don't want to receive newsletters on my phone but I do want to receive them. Why will "it" not let me change my email address?
I have 2 Australorps: Aida and Mattie - the sweetest chickens ever!
2 Light Brahmas: Blondie and Dolly - they pick on my little bantam
1 Easter Egger Bantam: Lucile
Prices can vary dramatically depending on where you get your feed. For convenience sake, I have bought feed at a local feed store and paid around $23 for a 50lb bag. When I drive the few extra miles to TSC, I get it for $15.
My DH bought me chickens for my 60th b'day; 2 Australorps, 2 Lt Brahmas and 1 Easter Egger (turned out to be a bantam). The Australorps are by far the friendliest and IMHO prettiest girls I have. They are always the first to run see if it is me or DH when the back door opens. If me, they run up...
My girls seem to want to roll around in mud. Where ever I clean out their waterers or feeders or rinse poop off my "chicken shoes" is just exactly where they want to roll. Obviously doesn't show up so much on my Australorps but the Lt Brahmas look sooo funny with mud/dirt on their faces/heads...
Excellent article; well written and informative. I was aware that free ranged chickens provided better eggs and meat, just didn't realize how much better. Glad my yard is such that my girls can free range most of the time.
Sorry, I have no knowledge of Polish but I do have a Light Brahma that is behaving similarly. What the heck is up with that? She has always laid her eggs later in the day - 1-2pm and now she stays in the nest box until the following morning. Funny though, she is usually the first one out of the...
That is a fair amount of corn. Personally, I don't give mine cracked/dried corn at all. Once in a while they get an ear of fresh corn or some canned corn - leftover. I do not include corn in the scratch mixture that I make for them. That is just my preference since corn is a starch and doesn't...
I suspect it has to do with the fact that many of the "organic" eggs are brown. For whatever reason folks associate brown eggs with being healthier. LOL Chickens that are well fed and have plenty of room to forage for their own bugs, etc. are the ones that lay the healthiest eggs - no matter...
Congratulations! First eggs are SOOO eggciting. Then every day becomes a surprise..will I get one egg or five. Yes, I love my pet chickens and my friends enjoy their eggs!
My girls occasionally get some iceberg - usually mixed with other greens and they seem to tolerate it with no problems - no diarrhea. Don't know that I would feed them just the iceberg - I don't eat that stuff myself. LOL
