I have 8 male chicks -not sure of breed free to anyone who wants them. Must come pick up. They hatched 7/14 and came as "packing peanuts" for the other chicks I ordered. Located in east NC around New Bern. I don't need them or have room for them so they are free to whoever wants them.

I have read around and haven't found a real answer so I will ask here. About what age can you tell a female from a male KC? I have 3 that I picked up at TSC about a month ago and I was wondering how soon I should be able to tell their sex.

I finally got my ducks and chicks out in their new coop. My hubby had to redo the flooring because all the wood was rotten. We also ended up picking up 3 khaki campbell ducklings at TSC last weekend. I am up to 12 chickens and 6 ducks. I am honestly surprised that my DH gave me the okay to get...

I am also considering raising some chickens for meat, but I will not want to do the butchering and processing myself. How do I go about finding a butcher to do it for me? And is it usually cost effective to raise your own meat birds? We are on a tight budget, but I would feel better if I could...
