I'm already fighting sleep and it's 10:58, my first one just hatched out and I'm starting to wonder "why on earth did I put the incubator in my bedroom"? This one is very loud and I hear a couple of eggs that have not hatched yet returning the scream!
It's 8:41 pm here, and I've got a pip and lot's of chirping on a couple barnyard mix chicken eggs.
Not seeing any activity on the turkey eggs :( I had what looked like good growth and development!
Hope everyone is having fun tonight!
I think boy is what would be called a Splash?
And thinking about it I guess the hen would be more lavender then blue. But she is just so much smaller and dosen't have the puffy tail that the Cochin usually has.
Got these two rescues from a woman who is helping an elderly "chicken collector" to re home his flock.
So the rooster is suppose to be a Cochin (looks like one to me)
But the hen was suppose to be one as well. She is just much smaller then I would expect her to be. She is finally coming...
Well seems my wonderful Chiweenie was passing the incubator at same time I came by and let one of his wonderful dogie farts! I went back in the room and was like "why no smell now?"..
Anyways here is the gas machine himself!
What a day! I decided to build out a hoop coop in the pouring rain (seems lately I either get to pick rain, COLD, or snow, so rain seemed warmer).... Moved my 30 Production Reds (actually most of these gals are super super dark mahogany which is nice to see from a hatchery), into this much...
Ugghh.. I gotta find an incubator anonymous group! I'm not even set to hatch this group out till the 1st and I'm already thinking of what is going in next.
I can't even keep up with building pens and shelters due to the weather (suddenly hoop coops are really nice).
You all have to stop...
It's snowing pretty good and my crazy rooster (this one is a rescue that lives up by the house just free ranging) is running around trying to peck the flakes out of the sky. From what I understand he had lived in a small cage all his life and was in pretty rough shape when I got him.
Now the...
Thank you!
I confirmed last night 3 look really good and I see what looks like the beginning of a poult, a couple questionable and the rest are looking like they didn't take. Last night was day 10.
I will wait 4-5 days before I go look again and pull out what obviously didn't take and start...
So I was told about the tetris stacking last night (somewhere pages back in this thread). And while I think I get the concept of how to do it in a Hovabator 1588 (assuming egg cartons and stacking them up to the ceiling) I was wondering if anyone has pictures of how they stacked in a Genesis...
And now on to other subjects.
My crazy houdini hens are out of the pen again this morning which means more eggs in places they shouldn't be! Maybe the dusting of snow we got last night will make her rethink where her eggs should go!
And I'm now thinking of adding in to my little farm some...
Well it was nice waking up to some snow today! Animals didn't really care for it but I enjoyed it!
Now the last thing I need is probably more hatching eggs lol.
