Wow, must be a bad week for silkies.. My little hen can't stand.
It sounds just like yours. No injuries that I can see. She is eating and drinking, if I bring the food to her. No runny nose, no other issues. If I set her down, she just lays down. When holding her, she can kick her legs and move...
Do you have a septic tank? There is a fly that looks like a fruit fly that comes out of the septic tank, if not properly taken care of.
If not, and they are still around the drains, you can sprinkle baking soda and vinegar down the drain. It will bubble and clean it out. Also works good in...
I have never heard anything that sounds like that. Maybe call your wild life center. They should know. If they do not know and you keep hearing "help"...maybe a call to the police would be a good idea.
Hm, My Jersey Giants are so big, they wouldn't make it over a 2 foot fence. LOL! Now my smaller breeds, they fly over the 4 foot fences with ease, but the giants...even with running downhill, full speed, for 12 feet or more, they get no further than a few inches off the ground . They do try...
I prefer the stall dry too. It is cheaper and works better. I can't get it around here anymore. I called every feed store. TSC was carrying it, but then stopped. They only have PDZ.
I too have a cornish X that my family loves. My husband (once an avid hunter) will not cull her and eat her. He says she is a pet. She is very sweet and loves to be petted. I live in an area that is extremely hot and humid. We make life as good as we can for her. Extra ice, lots of watermelon...
Thanks!
I still feel like there is little scratchy things in my throat. Like tiny glass shards! I am trying not to cough continually, but it is really difficult.
I wish I would have had the darn mask on. I don't think I will die or anything, I just have this irritation that won't go away...
I bought some DE to spread in the coop for fly control.
I was carrying the container (large Tupperware w/lid). I had a mask, just had it around my neck, not over my mouth and nose. I was planning on putting it on correctly when I got ready to sprinkle. Well, the chickens and ducks thought I...
Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown....
Well he was brown when he was named. LOL! He is a very nice rooster. Very friendly.
Soupie
He is also a sweetheart.
Here they are together. They get along well.
Just like the title says, Does it work? I know people say it works on fleas. I have a severe fly problem. Living in SWFlorida, with the constant humidity, surely isn't helping my problem. I have tried DE already. Also, I clean my coop and poop board every week.
Thanks

That will just attract MORE flies.
if I place the traps away from the coop, you don't think they will go there instead? I am at wits end. Was hoping this was the answer. I live in a very humid area, rains couple of times a day during the wet season, and we are in it! What else can I use?
I have tried more pine, De and lyme, Adam's flee and tick spray (helped for a minute or 2). I have ducks in the same run. Still have severe case of flies. I am going to try the hanging traps that use pheromones from HD. Something has got to work!
Did animal control come and take the dogs? I sure hope they do something quickly. You have been through enough with them already. My sister has a Jack Russell. The thing was so determined and would attack any animal it could catch. He was fast and very scary. She finally had him put down...
As I sit here, with the initial stun wearing off, I feel so sad. I still can not believe this happened. My daughter's silkie hen was such a sweetie. The campine was just beautiful. I guess I need to be more prepared. I do live in the country, with a lot of wild life. I just always thought, if...

Yes, he is back. i posted when he got back. (I think it is on the second page of this thread)
Neighbor was wasted drunk, denied it was his dogs, but did admit to letting them out. My Dh told him if we see them here again, he would hear gunshots. He begged Dh not to do that. He asked if...

yes, yes, I realize that. I just know myself...I get a little frazzled and do not think clearly sometimes when there is an emergency, case in point...I run outside and have nothing to defend my daughter or myself with. Not a smart thing to do.
I was also trying to put a little humor...
I changed the title. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was very stressed when I first wrote. Around here, we call dogs by their breeds ; the poodle down the street, the mutt, the pit bulls, the schnauzers, etc... it wasn't meant as a way to demean a breed.
Now, I wonder, if it happens again...

Yes, you are right, I should have said neighbors "dogs". At the time, I was so distraught, cleaning up feathers and dead chickens, I just didn't think to be politically correct. Dogs would have been enough description. I do not have anything against pit bulls. I have had dogs my entire...
