About the pip on the wrong end; IMHO, Usually it is best to let a pip do its thing, I have had some who pipped on the wrong end hatch just fine. They may take a little longer.
I love this contest so much, and I would love to make something this weekend.
However, we’re in the middle of renovating our 1950s kitchen and we’re tearing out the old tile countertops this weekend, so I’m not sure if I can cook anything at all!
I’m going to live vicariously through the photos...
Twelve is a nice number, especially if it’s likely that you might have to keep the extra chicks.
I wound up succumbing to the temptation of filling my incubator one year during the hatch a long, and wound up doubling the size of my flock! I had about 60 birds that year :gig
I just discovered this thread. I once bought some silkies from TSC which turned out to be much bigger than expected. They were absolute sweet hearts, and sadly, I just lost the last one in the fall. Great work so far, MysteryChicken, this is completely fascinating and I can’t wait to see more...
Any updates on what happened?
I still think about this thread- wondering if it was animal or human in this case since there were people asking for chickens right before the chicken went missing, very strange.
Please let us know if you found anything out, or if any more chickens have gone missing.
