Does This Sound Like A Good Idea Silkie Lovers?

I just discovered this thread. I once bought some silkies from TSC which turned out to be much bigger than expected. They were absolute sweet hearts, and sadly, I just lost the last one in the fall. Great work so far, MysteryChicken, this is completely fascinating and I can’t wait to see more from you!
 
Yes, most are sold in hatcheries Such as Hoover's that labels all their Silkies as bantam, but they have a mix of large, & small silkies thrown together. One reason I get both LF, & Bantam when I breed them together.
I had no idea Hoover's had them. I might have to order some one day...

I think a good starting weight for the Giant Silkies would be 7-8lbs, & then work to get the weight up from there.
 
Wow. That's huge!
Not really, it's about average for most LF breeds.

My first F2 Giant Silkie is close to 5lbs, I'll be weighing him again once he reaches 1yr old to get a mature weight, if he doesn't take a full 2yrs to be full grown.
