No not at all!!! That was a happy face that I'd figured out what I was calling washing up liquid, you call dish soap! I thought the terminology had been confusing and you'd thought we'd used something really weird on them! Sorry for confusion :(
Thank you :hit
Here's one of the links we read:

It's just standard (mild) washing up liquid
Thanks everyone. My husband took her to the vet earlier today as she was even more lethargic, not wanting to stand, no energy etc. They said she was very sick, tried iv fluids and glucose water but she died 2 hours later.
Vet wondered if it was a birth problem (and interestingly she hatched 2...
We have 4 Abacot rangers, just over 4 weeks old. There is at least 1 girl (based on her quacking).
For the last 36 hours she has been much more lethargic. Hasn't preened herself once. Still eating and drinking but more lacklustre. Looking increasingly small compared to the other 3.
My husband...
We have 4 Abacot ranger ducklings. 4 weeks old. Just noticed the biggest one has blood on one of its wings and seems to be holding that wing slightly differently to the other side.
Otherwise he's walking around, flapping his wings, still eating and swimming etc. Have t noticed any...
Sorry for slow reply, not logged in for a while. They are great - grown so big in only 4 weeks!!!
Although think one has just hurt himself so about to post a query in the injured birds forum!
Managed to resist temptation to do anything and duckling number 4 hatched this evening without assistance :celebrate:celebrate:celebrate
Totally in love with our 4 new family members and you guys have helped so much! Thank you!!
@WVduckchick
@Texas Kiki
@Miss Lydia
Thank you so much. Going to bed now so will see what it looks like in the morning. I have some coconut oil if necessary but fingers crossed won't need it... :fl
I could not have done this hatch without all the amazing help from you guys so thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! At the moment there are a few cracks in the shell and a bit of shell about 5x5mm missing so can see the membrane clearly and it's definitely white at the moment. If it did turn brown what should I do? Moisten it with some oil or peel a bit more away?
To be honest we're not...
He's the only local farmer we know who sells them and these were the only ones he had as he'd already set them. But he said it shouldn't matter transporting them as only 30 minutes away so a bit like the cooling period?
So we got them last Monday and he said to lockdown on Wednesday and they should hatch Friday night to Saturday. He texted yesterday and said 11 out of his 12 had hatched. But weird that ours seem so staggered timewise?
@Miss Lydia @casportpony have either of you have one pip at the wrong end? Our 4th one has just externally pipped (36 hours after supposed hatch time) but at opposite end to air sac. Tiny hole, can't see beak position. Eekkkk not sure best thing to do!
