    Spoiled rotten

Pickles is thriving, and quite tolerant of 4 kids! It’s favorite thing to do is preen the dog😂. The 2 other eggs pipped externally yesterday, so friends are on the way!

    Thank you!

He’s a Shetland, and so babied by all my kids😂. I never realized what personalities ducks have!

    Thank you!

A big thanks to all that helped me hatching my first duck egg! Little Pickles is happy and active, the hatch went great. Now in 2 weeks 2 more will be hatching!

    Internal pip?

Shetland. I got it in a batch as an extra, and it's the only one that developed.

    Internal pip?

Just wondering if this is an internal pip, or shadowing? I had messed up my hatch date (I thought it was yesterday), but it’s actually Friday. It seems to be bobbing up and down.

    Incubation Question

In the last few weeks I decreased humidity to 50%, and the air cell looks normal now. I was concerned the Shetland egg air cell was too small.

    Incubation Question

Hi all! I have a Shetland due to go on lockdown tomorrow. I also have 3 other assorted duck eggs in the same incubator, but they are not due to hatch until July 4th. Will the younger eggs be affected by the high humidity for those days on lockdown? I still plan on turning multiple times...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Can you tell me how much? I had Crested eggs in the incubator, and none were fertile! Only the lone Shetland that was shipped as an extra.

There's just soooo many different opinions out there! And I get it, what works for one may not work for someone else. Just hoping for some real life advice:)

    ****CHICKENS NAIL WON'T STOP BLEEDING****

I hated doing her nails with a clipper, because this would happen. Moved on to using a rotery grinder.

    ****CHICKENS NAIL WON'T STOP BLEEDING****

You can use flour in a pinch to try to stop bleeding. I had to do that with my macaw at times. Just press it on there to help with clotting.

    Hatching duck eggs....

Hi all. In the midst of lock-down, I had three beers and decided to buy some duck eggs. I have never done ducks before. Hatched chickens, yes, but not ducks. There is so much conflicting info out there on incubation humidity, take out and cool, mist, don't mist, etc..... My question for...
