    Dislocated air cells?

Good logic. I think a couple may have quit already but leaving in fir now in upright single crate. Will do the tilting. Several seems to be growing regardless.

    Dislocated air cells?

It’s 20 rainbow eggs, so olive eggers, Amercaunas, Easter eggers and black copper marans. I decided to stick the ones that clearly have saddle and detached air sacks in the cartons since I’m fresh out of baby socks. :)

    Dislocated air cells?

Fun! Fingers crossed for you! I have only done one previous bator hatch and they were from my backyard chickens after I was feeling sad after having to cull our rooster bc he was too aggressive. I put at least 12 in the bator and four hatched. All the no goes were yokers, none had detached air...

    Dislocated air cells?

Gold star for inventiveness! Maybe I’ll try a few that way to see what happens!

    Dislocated air cells?

Ok! So the eggs just scoot instead of turning. Do you manually tilt them at all?

    Dislocated air cells?

I really can’t imagine how your baby sock trick works but am so intrigued! Lol I just am curious if the detached air cell guys will keep growing up them what happens, I guess they can drown when they’re close to born? I would be interested to see any picture you have of how you rig it in this...

    Dislocated air cells?

Makes sense. Because I have a nurture right 360 incubator with automatic turner, I don’t think setting them upright at this point will help. As the ones with attached air cells could still benefit from being in repose with automatic turner on.

    Dislocated air cells?

I’m a novice chicken egg incubatoror. I received my first shipped eggs and candles on day seven today...rainbow eggs...many dark or olive. Several look like they probably have detached air cells. They’ve been laid flat with automatic turner. When I candles today some had liquid in them where I...

    Feather sexing new chicks

I have four 12 day old chicks I inch aches from backyard mix flock. Three are from my Easter Egger and one is from my California Leghorn. The rooster was a bantam barred Cochin. Is it possible to take a gander at sexing them by looking at feather development? All seem to have two layers on...

    One and done

👋 I got an Easter Egger from a not so reputable source in April as a chick. She was born last week on March. She’s happy and seemingly healthy. No lice or mites. Very healthy diet and free ranges a few hours a day in the evening. The other 6 chickens are all laying, but they are different...

    Tylosin w/o Rx?

Well ok! Sounds like it’s chicken eye surgery tomorrow! I do have tweezers. We’ll see if I inherited any surgical skills from my surgeon father. ;) Wonder if my six year old could be the assistant. My husband doesn’t want to touch the chicken with a ten foot pole.

    Tylosin w/o Rx?

I’ll give it another shot with a q tip tomorrow. I laid off the eye ointment for a few days to see what happened and yes I have seen bubbles. Will start giving eye ointment again.

    Tylosin w/o Rx?

She’s still here. Doing fine. Eye still looks like this after full course of antibiotics. It doesn’t smell. She’s able to get around fine with just one eye. This white stuff seems to be tissue not chicken puss? bc it doesn’t smudge?

    Tylosin w/o Rx?

I just gave it another shot. The eye is fully opened now. I'm going to say this with the expectation that you don't believe me because this is my first chicken eye infection, BUT...it doesn't look like chicken puss. It's different from what I pressed out before. The stuff before what like...

    Tylosin w/o Rx?

She’s a 12 week old barred rock. Just now the eye was open slightly so I could actually see some white stuff inside. This looks similar but kind of different then last week. Almost like it growing on the actual eye ball. As far as culling, I guess I could try to defeat her and cook her? Never...
