I have told my DH that I'm not the only person that takes their chicken for rides. I have taken Z to Capt.D's, Church's Chicken and the drive thru at Walgreens, they love her there. I just haven't taken any pictures to share. Love Coco and Bird.
Extremely informative thread. I have never really thought about having any restriction on the type of animal that you could raise or have as a pet. Thank you for this wonderful gift of knowledge and understanding.
Thank you for your answers. I guess I really wasn't thinking about the molting process, was just worried about her. She is loved and brings so much joy and laughter to this family.
Thank you again,
Ann
I have a 2.5 y/o Barred Rock hen that's our house chicken. She's not been her happy-go-lucky self recently. She is going through a molt so she's not laying, that's not the problem. She gets a good quality feed, crumbles, not pellets she doesn't like them. She has free access to calcium/oyster...
I am so sorry to hear about little Marie. She really loved you, sharing her last moments content on your lap and giving you all her love.
will keep the both of you in our thoughts.
Ann
Hello
There is a chicken swap in Robertsdale on the 21st of July @ Carters Legacy farms. You can find out more information here on facebook.
Escambia County (FL) Backyard Chicken Owners.
Hope that help you.

Z's lives in a dog training crate. We put in a perch for her to roost on. I did see a plan for an inside coop using kitchen/bathroom cabinets. We have one friend that converted a large parrot cage for her indoor coop.
Hello,
have had a house chick for 2+ years. She is a Barred Rock, and spoiled rotten. The adventure of having a house chicken is not for everyone and I really advise you to think hard and long on it. Z was a rescue, as our family has had parrots and conures for many years it was just natural...
I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm just glad that you were there to help her gently over the Rainbow Bridge!
Use the blue Dawn. We use it on "Z" and on the dogs. When we do dishes our Blue and Gold Maw, will come over and take a bath, like I really enjoy doing dishes twice... Its safe, just use a little bit.
