Heyyy BYC... I am going to bathe my silkie Dakota because she is all muddy and wet... it rained... welll.... last time i did this i used dog shampoo... well we ran out... what else can i use? No i dont have baby shampoo... THANKSSS

I used Dawn to get the poop off of my silkie. It is very gentle and used by rescues to clean birds covered in oil from oil spills. He did very well and seemed to really enjoy it!

Use the blue Dawn. We use it on "Z" and on the dogs. When we do dishes our Blue and Gold Maw, will come over and take a bath, like I really enjoy doing dishes twice... Its safe, just use a little bit.

Wool wash or shampoo is best because it is designed for cleaning protein (hair or feathers - even wool..

.). It doesn't strip oil off so the chickens stay a lot more water proof. Detergent is only necessary if they have something really gross (like an oil spill) that needs to be removed.
