Hi guys! I have a empty coop and decided to raise rhodebars. Bought eggs from three breeders and the first set hatched a couple days ago. Three are females for sure, and three males, but the other two I don't know. Is this a bad sign or normal?
That's the virus that kills piglets right? Our adults are healthy so hopefully they will stay that way. Expecting 4 litters of piglets July 12th! Excited and nervous.
Hi all! Wondering if someone could answer a few questions. I've been raising blue, black, and splash Cochins for two years now. I bought lots of eggs from different breeders, most advertised as giant Cochins, and I kept the best for breeding. I culled a LOT. I now have a HUGE blue rooster, a...
Slop is leftover table food. I just started with pigs a month ago and may have gotten in over my head. We have four gilts and a boar to feed now, all 7-10 months old. Fred, Velma, Mollie, Shortcake, and Truffle. All Large Blacks.
I have 230 eggs coming in today or tomorrow. They are coturnix. I was planning on 120, and bid low on another offer, ended up winning and now I get to hatch 230 lol. We have four horse stalls that are clean and not in use so I plan on using one for the brooder. They are seven feet tall, do you...
I always have one that hatches a good half day to a day earlier than everyone else. I doubt it was from a temp spike since its day 16. I'm about to set 200 eggs this week. Not sure what I was thinking... Lol.
He is solid white.
They seem to be breeding a lot. We just moved and have a huge barn with 6 acres. I only got 10 eggs from our goose last year, so I'm worried this will be it for the season. I'm building a big house for the adults by the pond so she may quit laying eggs for awhile after the...
I have three males and two females and the huge gander is the youngest male and not allowed to breed but he really is pretty! I think he's only 10 months old or so and is scared of everything lol. His head seems not as rounded on top as well. I'm setting the four eggs tomorrow so hopefully they...
My geese started laying eggs already!! We have four eggs so far! The ganders are not nice right now! One of the ganders is HUGE. His feathers are beautiful, and he is from a Sebastopol breeder, but I'm just surprised at his size. Is this normal? He is probably twice the size of the females.
I have too many and would like them to go to a good home. They are all less than a week old. Two welsummers that I hatched from a assortment of shipped eggs, and 7 chicks that were sent as extras when I ordered some pullets from a hatchery. They look like black sex link males to me. PM me if...
