Out of 4 mallards 2 quit and 2 are happy healthy and developing fine.
Out of 10 pekin all 8 in the bator were non fertile, 2 under broody were doing great until one just disappeared. 1 left under broody and doing great.
Day 10 for chicks....

I'm having the same trouble with my cream legbars. I've been thinking of mixing some regular brown leghorns back in to strengthen the lines back up and then cull out until I get the right colors.
Ok i checked the first post and my numbers haven't been added. I thought I posted them. I've already had to toss some but I will put up my original numbers...
21 cream legbars
28 EE
5 barnevelder/Brahma mix
8 pekin
4 mallards
Under broody...
8 barnyard mixes
2 pekin
Total 76
If anyone is near Reno Nevada and still needs eggs for the HAL I have a surplus of barnyard mixes... My girls are kicking out 25 to 35 eggs daily. I have aracauna and Cochin roos over 10 different breeds of girls.
Wow! Went to work for 8 hours and almost 200 posts and 4 pages.... Just got caught up. Candled the ducks.... 3 out of 4 mallards doing well 2 out of 10 pekin doing good. I think my drake just figured out what to do..... 3 of the eggs under my broody not fertile ( broody started on duck set day...
Set all mine this morning 21 cream legbars 28 EEs 5 barnevelder/Brahma mixes. Last week 4 mallards and 8 pekin. Got a broody on 8 barnyard mixes and 2 pekin. All together I have 76 set.
Hi was wondering why the duck eggs that are in my bator are not as developed as the ones under my broody. I set in the bator the day before my hen went broody. Its a chicken setting on the eggs.
