I have Golden White Layers which look just like Pekins to me, and I just love them too! I love having the big white ducks, I love all my other ducks, and the Runners are my favorite breed, but I couldn't imagine not having any all white ducks around. -

This is probably a silly question........when a duck is sitting on her nest and the duckling starts hatching out of it's egg, does she still sit on it, or does she push it out to let it continue hatching. Does she push them out right before they start hatching? I didn't know if they pushed eggs... -

2 drakes, 1 duck-- do I have a problem?
I guess everyone has different experiences with their ducks............mine is, I have 8 females and 2 drakes. NOT enough females! Maybe my drakes have too much testosterone, but I feel so bad for all my girls. The drakes never stop harassing them....it's constant one after the other. I wonder... -

Best place to get some Runner ducks
With Metzers you can order less than 10, but it costs a little more. I only ordered 6 and they put a little heat pack in with them, and they arrived healthy and happy. -

Dark greeny black spots appearing on/in an orange beak
...goat and horse, and there is always a ton of leaves that fall off, so put a fresh batch in a bowl of water each night so they always have greens. I *think* if they aren't soaked, they can cause problems........I forget what, but I do remember they should be soaked. It's not their favorite... -

Oh I love the runners I raised from babies!! They are my favorite, the most friendly and definitely the leaders of the rest of the gang. The two that are skitterish, I got as adults from a guy who didn't handle them at all. I would love more, and I am hoping some of my babies will look like... -
