    I think on a wood floor a good sturdy exterior paint is a good bet. I have put down vinyl flooring and had it torn back up by the chickens. Anything that seals the moisture from getting to the underlying surface should work.

    In all likelihood if you use peel and stick tiles they will unstick and peel off due to the action of shavings, dust, and chicken scratching.

    That sweet giant. She does look miserable. I'm glad that she'll go outside and scratch around a little bit. There really isn't much you can do other than offer them the best of care, and wait.

    They are incredibly nosy about everything, every time I go in the pen he's somewhere close by me but acting like he's just there by chance. Last summer I had five little roosters all in that pen with the hens and never a fight.

    I adore my little bantam speckled Sussex, they are good tempered and friendly, never seen or heard of a bad tempered rooster, and they talk a lot.
