    about to slip babies under broody that only hatched out one chick

    I think Cochins are great momma's because I just stuck 7 chicks under one of my broodies (she hatched two of her own) and she took them on...no problems. The other hen that was sitting on eggs (only hatched one)...helps out with mothering duties! It sure is a sweet sight to see!!

    Hot weather advice?

    I just bought a Mister kit from Sam's Club today. It was $29.00 and has enough tubing and nozzles for 32 feet. I hope to hook it up this weekend. The heat factor will be 110 this weekend...my poor birdies! I also use fans and like to serve up cold watermelon for them!

    I have had some that are aggressive (got rid of them!) The two I have now are very sweet and not agressive towards people at all. If I am trying to catch on of his girls (my alpha rooster), I can tell this upsets him, but he does not attack.
