Good morning all. Heading out for one last golf trip. There are fires up near Lake Chelan, hoping air quality won't be too bad.
I'll have to catch up more later.
Hope you all have a beautiful day! 💗
I didn't go deep into my hives yesterday, but looking down in, looked like there was a lot of capped brood.
We'll do a deeper inspection next weekend when we do a mite test.
I'm trying to relax...😁
I'm sure it could be from either one.
That is a lot of honey. I would think it also depends on how many bees are in a hive. I imagine stealing honey is easier than bringing in nectar, once the fighting is done anyway. Food ready to eat usually is.
At this time of year bees will rob honey from other hives. Because the weight jumped so much in one day, it shows, that hive is robbing another hive.
I hope I explained that good enough. 🙂
I was just looking at them, they are spendy. Pretty cool though.
My husband said we could use a scale and a hydraulic jack. If we wanted to weigh ours.
I was also thinking about asking my oldest son if he could put together a less expensive version. He's very good at that kind of thing...
I would like to plant a few more Caryopteris, the bees really like them and they are late blooming. I bet it would grow in your area. It grows in zones 5-9. I think I'm going to go take some cuttings next spring and try to propagate it.
I really hope we can get the sweet clover, Mountain Bee...
Right...lol
We need to pick up more sugar. I think I'll grab 4 25lb bags. Our local store is not the place to do it. We'll hit Costco in Wenatchee on our way home from Lake Chelan.
