    Reliable brown egg layer?

I'll look into Marans and see what I can find, from what I've heard they are really good. I've had Rhode Island Reds before, they are awesome! I think I'll get some of them! We have a leghorn rooster, and poor fella did get frostbite. It wasn't very bad but still . Thank you all!

    Is our production normal?

We have 30 red sex-link hens, about a year old. (there are several that are about 2 years old). They are laying about 18 - 25 eggs a day. Is this good production for sex-links? We have had chickens before, but never this breed. I really have no idea if this is good laying or not . Any thoughts?

    Reliable brown egg layer?

They are beautiful! I've never had them before, though. I've read that because of their thick feathers, you have to wash off the vent area regularly. Do you have to do that with yours? Just wondering

What kind of comb is this?

Wow, cool! We bought him online from a private seller, and he said they were easter eggers. But he also said they were hens and "laying every day" (it took months for the ones that were hens to start laying ). Thanks!

What kind of comb is this?

He is an easter-egger rooster, and I think he probably has a pea comb, but I've never seen one like this. Just curious. Thanks!
