My Black Jersey Giant hen is limping bad. She has been limping for a week now. It has gotten a little better, because on the first day she started limping she could hardly walk. Now she can walk, but it looks horrible when she walks. Its like she is almost jumping on one leg and only using the...
Hi! So my sis and i won 2 chicks at a raffle. One im sure is an rir but the other? I have guesses on it. Im thinking either an old english game bantam or a norwegian Jaerhon. What do you all think? Also, pullet or cockerels? Theyre about 2 months old.
A little younger pics here
And when...
Anyone familiar with the breed Norwegian Jaerhon? So I win 2 chicks at a raffle, on is a rir, and the other one o wasnt sure about....i had a guess, Crele old english game bantam (this chick is still much smaller than the rir) but then i stumbled across the Norwegian Jaerhon. It looks like it...
I think thats a roo....look at those pointy tail feathers. The comb is quite red too. And thats an easter egger. Beautiful bird :) araucanas have no tail and some crazy looking muffs. :)
Someone told me this baby looks like it could be a welsummer or brown leghorn. But the pattering just doesnt look right to be those two. (Its about 6 maybe 7 weeks old) Its quite small, so im thinking bantam, also, its pattering looks like an old english game. I also think its a pullet. Anyone...
Thats a bummer! :( but im gonna say pullet for the dark one. 2 of the red ones look like cockerels, but in that 1st pick the ones head is kinda turned so i cant see its comb very well.
Hi. So I won two chicks at a raffle...they are about 6 weeks old. I know the red one is a rir, but the other one....its a lot smaller than the rir, despite them being the same age. It kinda has an old english game bantam pattering to it. Could it be an old english, or a mut, or somethinge else...
The red ones look like roos but that dark one....is that a black sex link? Looks like a pullet to me, because my black sexlink looked like that at that age.
I have always wanted Quail Belguim Bearded Bantams. I see them every year at our fair. I love them. My family, however, wont get anymore bantams because they lay small eggs, and we sell our eggs because theres no way our family would ever be able to eat all of them. So im sad lol
This is peanut. Shes a buff sebright. Shes crazy. At first we thought she was a roo because she started crowing a couple times almost every morning! Her crowing sounded like a dying cow! And ive heard the roos dont develope all the fancy rooster feathers, so i just figured the she we purchased...
No neither one of the hens had wounds! I dont know how it happened! Just one day they were fine, the next day they were lethargic. I picked them up, then, they smelt like rotting flesh! I looked at her butt and blood was dripping off of her. I opened up her feathers...and just about had a heart...
Yes! You could see the maggots crawling under their skin!! they were everywhere! In her back, on her butt, her thighs there was hundreds! I picked them out with tweezers and bathed my chicken to drown them out. She died the next morning :( but ive had TWO chickens die from this!! The first one...
Aw thats sad. Hawks are the number one killer to my chickens! Too bad the hawks are a protected species! They'd be dead by now if they werent. They killed my favorite chicken named Buffy! She was a Buff Brahma with a very sweet personality. :( accidents also have killed my chickens in the past...
I have 2 chicks that i won at a raffle...one im sure is a rhode island red, and the other....is a lot smaller than "Little Red" and has kinda an old english game pattering to it. Im thinking its a bantam of some sort. Sex guesses would be great too! Thanks
