Hey guys, about a week and a half ago some chicks came into my possession. Now, a new shipment has arrived and I need to give the younger chicks the water dispenser. Is there anything I can do to ensure the older chicks will use their new bowl, or will they figure it out on their own?
I was wondering about he drawbacks of feeding chicks layer feed, if there are any, and if there are, what else I should feed the chicks to supplement their diet.
Hello chicken enthusiasts! It's been a long time since I've raised chickens and we've just ordered some more to chase of quarentine boredom. I'd like advice on frying pan specials temperament, how big a coop I should out together, and whether or not we need a proper incubator (we live in Hawaii)
Made another bowl of food with even less papaya. He almost jumped out of the cage to get at the bowl :lau
He’s okay with being handled now if you move slowly, which makes it easier to handle him.
I also almost never see fights, and fights rarely escalate beyond puffing up their necks and jumping at each once or twice, unless they’re forced to fight. Though, come to think of it, I’ve never seen a fight between roosters on the giant, so they may be more brutal up there.
What I see a lot is a few harems, and a lot of roosters with just one hen. We were only planning to rehabilitate him from the start, if we opened the cage right now he would run off. He’s still basically feral. Obviously, there are better places to release him than in a populous neighborhood...
Alright. He is very active and energetic. I’ve yet to give him any fish or meat. I think we should keep him a few days for observation, then releasing him up onto sleeping giant, what do you guys think? There’s already a population of chickens on the giant, so there’s definitely food.
