Guardians or bullies?
Geese are naturally protective of those they consider a mate, those they consider their babies, their nest and territory. However geese have no instinct to protect a flock as a whole or ability to actually protect against a determined predator, such as a fox, raccoon, or...
Fall/early winter is when geese start battling it out for partners, preparation for spring breeding season, so unfortunately this is just a fact of life. Some ganders are spicier than others but there can be multiple factors that contribute to aggression. If you have a female goose, some female...
You’ll need a waterfowl or mixed flock oriented feed, something that has enough niacin and other B vitamins for ducks. If you’re up in the U.S something like kalmbach flock maintainer, nutrina all flock, purina flock raiser, purina duck feed, etc.
You’ll need buckets, lots of buckets and...
If it helps just know that this is actual normal hierarchical behavior in goose flocks. Dominant geese often steal eggs and nests from less dominant individuals because it boosts the chances of survival of possible goslings. So instinctually in their minds this is normal for you to chase them...
@oldhenlikesdogs is right, break up the nest. My geese were handled quite a lot and we get along well now and they don’t hold a grudge either. At worst they’ll be peeved at you for like two days and then forget all about it.
I have no knowledge of swans unfortunately, I have had similar bumps on some of my geese’s bills and it’s always been an abscess from bacteria that entered a cut. However their bumps were the same color as the rest of their bills, I don’t know if that might alter the skin pigmentation on swans...

However I’m very confused by this because one of my babies just stood...
Me? Nothing really.
My neighbor? Currently vacuuming his lawn apparently…….
I mean I don’t know for sure if that’s what he’s doing because the brush is too think to see up there but that sounds like a vacuum and not a lawn mower.
This is off subject but pages on here sometimes end up in search results so I don’t feel right exposing readers to incorrect information regarding honey.

So far in my research there is a low risk of...
Unfortunately that’s all too common, there aren’t a lot of avian vets and even fewer who are experienced in waterfowl. Bird flu doesn’t cause emaciation, it kills more rapidly than that so it’s a bit ridiculous to think that’s the issue. A necropsy can be useful for identifying other...
