I do mostly Quail eggs and the closer to home when shipped the better, less time for the PO to kick them around. I have had up to an 85% hatch and down to 45%, the 45 was from Tennessee and I'm in Fla. the 85 was only 200 miles away. And now that the PO is X-raying everything it don't...
I do mostly Quail and when this happens I go ahead and completely remove it, exspecialy if it's near the end of the hatch, they are usually 50-50 that it makes it. Some people when the hatch starts will do a lite mist with warm water on the eggs.

Coturnix do eat alot more than Bobs, just like Rock X Cornish Chickens, anything that matures in half the time i.e. 6-8 weeks for Coturnix is going to go thru alot of feed. Yes they are pigs but you can change their type of feeder to mostly eliminate most of the waste. They are Eatin-Poopin...
At what age are they dieing? Do they die all at once? Do they have normal poop? Any external signs on the bodies? What are you feeding them/protein content?

And it may be wise to keep it up and not let it get to a point of flies. There may come a day when you don't have time for last minute cleaning because they are coming.
I live in Florida, its warm enough that if poop hits the ground there is instant flie's, I just keep them down...
