Hello Jody, I agree unless one has some interest and knowledge this cockerel or even pullet would do them absolutely no good.
I also feel that since you have opened your project up for sale and to the public. That ANY serious, knowledgeable, ethical breeder would ask questions about...
There are lavenders already in the US as of last year in fact. From what I know of this project, the type is being perfected prior to opening them up to the G.P.
Thanks Patty for posting that. Essentially you are only getting something capable of a very dilute lav gene when crossed to blacks. Eventually you need to cross to a lav to produce lav.
Edited to add. Now if they want to auction a pullet as well. That would be something to consider.
It has begun!
1 blue Korfus Klucker chicks hatched sometime between 2:30am and 6 am this morning
There were no pips at all at 2:30 - woot!
Photos soon - my mother is visiting and she doesn't understand chickens at all LOL
I thought you grew up on a farm, and raised chickens for over 20...

Congrats on the hatches. Does she know you sneaked off to give an update? You are not only hatching but sneaking off to post the results on the computer. Enjoy your Mother's visit, I am sure the updates can wait awhile.
The three to four square foot per chicken works well for small number of poultry. When you start getting into larger numbers especially the numbers you mentioned, you really need to have a much larger, well organized set up. Along with different runs and such.
Try looking at more commerically...
I would of thought the person asking this would be known as chicken lips. Seriously, I prefer to kiss someone of the opposite gender as I. Same species.
Have you people ever spent any time watching where those beaks have been? :o
Edited to say: Video's, oh lets just not go there.
I have to give you credit, Your rant was worthy of reading. Just the facts, No personal dramas. If I could I would trade you some of this Sunny Ca. weather for some of that rain. Sure could help us with all these fires.
Best of luck to you with the weather and getting that roof on. I am...

Yes there are but, There are also breeders working on Lavender Orps. Probably more than even I know about. whoops I know of three including yours.
Edited to say: If and or when one or more of these breeders decide to publicly post about it, I will take an interest and ask valid...
Jody, I have only asked valid questions about breedng programs. If you choose not to answer fine. No problem. Nothing negative on this end. In fact I was trying to lighten things up with the equal mommy camera time. Why should the dad always get the spotlight. NO biggie.
Yes, you have shared...

Hello Jody,
Well if that is your way or belief, Why compromise yourself? Especially since most if not all reading this list know that it takes a hen to produce chicks, even Lester cannot pull that off all by himself.
I personally would never let anyone pressure me into compromising...

Hello Charlie,
Well did someone question the breed of the mommies? I must of missed that post. It sure wasn't me.
Ya Know Charlie I have yet to meet a hen that was camera shy. But hey, if the owners do not want their ladies displayed on the net, by all means don't. In fact you may...
