@Miss Lydia I had been thinking about probiotics and when to start giving them. Makes since to give after stopping antibiotics. Not sure how long to keep her on antibiotics though. She won't have full use of her wing but I'm thinking at least 60-70% functioning. I am still alternating wrapping... -

The wound is staying clean. Still doing woundcare and antibiotics twice daily but I think that top tendon/muscle/tissue has died or is dying. No infection, doesn't smell. I'm guessing it will slough off. I have no clue. -

After a bath. Decided against a the dawn at this time. Tissue nice and pink but I just don't know about that top portion. Time will tell I suppose. @Miss Lydia So... maybe I prematurely freaked out. Actually, I think she has her matacarpus. She just has almost no primary feathers. She can even move her wing a bit more. I think I will continue to wrap her wing to the body from night till morning. So it's about 6 days out now. Last two... -

@Miss Lydia Well last night, the wounds still looked about the same. She does appear to be able to move her wing a little more (range wise) but not much. I did stretch the wing out and up and she let me. I didn't extend too much since I know it hurts bc she had that look of someone gritting... -

I actually have three ducks, thank goodness. The other two were pretty distraught after I brought the injured one in. They wouldn't eat that day. -

The wounds look good to me but wanted to post pics to make sure I'm not missing something. She was kind enough through the night to pull her little down feathers out of the area with gash so I was better able to see it and wash it out. She is eating and drinking well except I am now battling... -

No avian vets close by. Briefly Mentioned duck injury to my vet yesterday while there for my dog's appt and she said "Man I wish I knew more about ducks," so I figured it was a no go. Showed the pictures to a Doctor at work Wednesday and he said it looks like the wing needed to be amputated and... -

It's about 1-1 1/2" in length, not sure how deep it is though. Truth is, yes I am a nurse, but when it comes to my animals, I get a little squeamish. I have been using the pressure from spray bottle to debride all of the wounds. I set bottle in between a spray and stream. Seems to do a pretty... -

Well apparently I was so focused on wing I failed to see decent size, deep tear to her chest till just now. I was unintentionally treating area however bc I thought some feathers had been plucked. Poor girl. -

Took this just now. I'm happy with the way it looks, considering. No foul smell. She is actually more spirited. Was not shivering. Wish I could attach the video of her bathing right now. Tonight is the first time I actually feel truly hopeful. Will let her bathe for a bit longer and then will...
