The first picture is under his wing. It’s yellow and flaking and smells. He is 5 months old. I don’t know how long I just noticed this week. It appears to be skin flaking/ peeling.
If you had to choose doing lockdown on Day 16 or Day 19 which would you do? Lockdown meaning candling, raising humidity and the egg turner will turn off on Day 18. Wait and hope they don’t hatch early on Day 19 with low humidity or go ahead and lockdown early and hope they don’t hatch early...
2nd hatch was from my hens LO and a friends hen EE and OE and yes 1, 2 or 3 from each group had losses.
3rd hatch my daughters bantams and two different variety of breeds from a show pure bred flock of Orpingtons had several losses as well.
I’m new but I really think it’s the hatching not the eggs because of the 3 different ones I’ll loose two or three eggs per group or breed but the others will be fine!
Yes thoroughly cleaning incubator turning on 24 hours in advance before eggs are in. No I don’t wash eggs. Yes the turner is working,I check periodically and catch it usually atleast once a day.
Yes the incubator is off 10% on the humidity and correct on temp, and I tested the temp of the separate thermometer/ hygrometer not sure how to test the humidity
