Hen with partly shelled egg half way out

I feel bad for her too how often do you use the DE? Im going to soak her again and try again with the olive oil or vasoline. Iv called multiple vets but none in our area take chickens, they all just said to try with the olive oil and soaking. Im hoping it works this time.

Hen with partly shelled egg half way out

Thank You! I soaked her for over 20 minutes. She sat there all by herself and I tried massaging the membrane that the egg is stuck in with olive oil but it didnt seem to help. She is wraped in a towel with a heat light. Is there anything else I can try?

Hen with partly shelled egg half way out

Thank you! I just went out and checked on her and it actually is fully shelled. There was just a lot of goop covering it earlier. The egg is a little farther out now. It looks like it might be streching her vent. Is that part normal? Since I dont have anybody to help me im going to get a spay...

We isolated her so the other chickens are not picking at it but what else can we do? She has not been laying lately due to a molt. When I found her she was out in...

    Layla1223s Chicken Coop

Welcome to my page! My cooop is made after an Amish style coop. I don't have all the building details because my Grandpa built it for me (thanks Grandpa!). He drew up his own plans after we saw a coop like this at a feed store. He made the floor, walls, doors, and roof at his shop and then...

Coop question for you Silkie folks...

I have 3 Silkies, 2 of them sleep in the nestboxes or on the edge of them, usually snuggled together. My nestboxes are on the floor. My pop door opens outward and is about 6 inches above their ramp and my other Silkie sleeps ontop of it. I plan on adding a lower roost for her inside the coop...

    Feather Problems?

I'v had my chickens for about a year now, but I still feel new to chickens. Since they are just now a year old I havn't experienced a molt. I think the Maran might be molting because in the bald spots there are a lot of pin feathers. I don't have a rooster so I think it might be plucking thats...

    Feather Problems?

One of my Cuckoo Marans suddenly lost a lot of chest feathers over about two days and I'm not sure why. My other chickens are also missing feathers but not as much and not as fast. The feathers are mostly missing around their butts and at the base of their tails. I am pretty sure I have a...
