Tonight I went out to put the chickens to bed, and I saw my little Sebright rooster dead on the floor. He was my favorite chicken. He was so sweet and I loved going out to see his adorable face every day. There were times when he would get picked on by the other chickens or get cold outside and...
I'll just give you mine:
Bubbie----my HUGE Cochin hen
Mr. T-----HUGE Cochin rooster
Harold-----Japanese rooster
Maude-----Japanese hen
Prudence-----Japanese hen
Rocky-----my sister's Mille Fleur rooster
Jasmine-----my sister's Mille Fleur hen
Nemo-----my pure evil Mille Fleur rooster...
I forgot to add that he's not full grown yet, so maybe there's hope for his tiny comb to grow. But yeah, he's REALLY tall for his breed, but I'll love him no matter what, he's such a sweet heart.

I was just out in our coop checking on the chickens. All of a sudden my Mille Fleur roo jumped on top of my Japanese roo! He used his claws to hold on to the Japanese's back and clamped his beak onto his comb and would not let go! I had to pry him off and grab his beak to get him off!
The roos...
cool!
Oh my gosh!!! I was reading your post and I saw your avatar in the corner of my eye and started flicking my computer screen!!!! Hahahaha, I flicked it like ten times before I realized the "bug" wasn't going to get off my screen!!! lol
I have a standard Cochin hen, she is about 12 weeks old now. I'm wondering when she'll start laying...I figured it wouldn't be for about 5 more weeks or so. But she has red-ish wattles and her comb has a pale hint of red. I heard this is a sign that she's ready to lay.
