    Yes I'm 105% sure he is a roo. His comb and wattles crew out at 6 weeks and his tail feathers have finally started growing in.

    I have a SLW rooster that is 14 weeks old that has yet to crow. He is a sweetheart and talks to his girls but there is no crowing. I guess my question is........why hasnt he crowed yet?

    I have the same problem, however, I have learned to shoot a .22 rifle and have taken out 4 squirrels. I have a neighbor that skins them so I give them to him when I do kill them.

    How do you keep chickens from flying over the fence?!?:-(

    I have used carpenter fencing on top of my run. Zip tie them to the posts and fencing and vioula, no more flying the coop. Check it daily also.

    My SLW roo is 10 weeks old and is still peeping and a occasional clucking. He has not crowed yet. I have a RIR pullet (10 wks) that is clucking like crazy and the rest of the flock is peeping.

    Neighborhood cats bugging my birds

    I have 2 outdoor barn cats that are interested in our chickens. Our Calico stuck her paw through the wire and got a serious pecking. Now she just lays down next to the coop and takes her baths. The other cat talks to the chickens and our rooster chats back at her.
