from what I read and what I have (5 bourbon reds)( 7 royal palms) bourbon reds are the 2nd smallest breed of heritage turkey ! miget whites smallest of all! lots of stuff I read all says different! but here on this farm out of 7 breeds of domestic turkeys bourbon reds are the small bird...- turkey guru

Feed consumption?
the more feed you buy the cheaper it gets, at the feed store I pay 23 dollars a bag of 27%, if I go to the mill I have to buy a ton at 11.70 a bag for the same stuff! big difference tom!!- turkey guru

my bourbon reds are smaller than the royal palms, kind of like picking out a pup cause of color, what ever color you choose won't make a better dog!! except at night a bear can see a white dog easyer than a dark one, but heck so can I tom!!- turkey guru

Feed consumption?
8 lbs of feed to 1 lb of live weight,butcher loss of 40%, these organic birds bring between 3.50 and 9 dollars a pound dressed! (oven ready) then I sold the turkey heads to a taxidermist 45 bucks each, hunters ruin most of the heads,so in order to stuff there trophy they need a head!!! tom!!- turkey guru

Feed consumption?
do not put poults on slick floors like the bottom of a pool, turkey poults will spradle leg very fast on slick surface!! with all turkey never slick surface use bedding of some kind! won't be long for them to jump out of that pool and they don't swim well good luck tom!- turkey guru

Turkey Eggs hatching!!!
who keeps saying I never lost a bird, I lose birds all the time, never have I hatched 100% or even close my first hatch was 82.7% my second was 50%, third will be on the 15th and the 4th hatch will be the 17th, each hatch is not the same! tom!!- turkey guru
