I think it takes 5-6 pharoah sized eggs to make one chicken egg. And for jumbo it takes 3-4. I know some jumbo quail eggs average around 14g. It just depends.

Thanks! It seems like a good system. I looked hard for the two lengths of PVC across the top center of the pen, but I couldn't see it. And how does the plumbing in the bucket look? Does the pump just hook up to a hose or something that then connects to the PVC?

As for figuring out if the eggs are fertile, crack one open in a bowl. Move it around until you find a white dot on the yolk. If it is a dot it's not fertile. If it is a bullseye then it is fertile. There are pictures somewhere around here. But I am not sure exactly where.
