    Help! Early lockdown???

Ohh... hm. Because it’s summer the eggs may hatch early, because it’s warmer. Have you been checking the eggs with a flash light? Do they look healthy? They may just be hatching early, but it’s your decision because I’ve never incubated eggs before. Hope this helps.

Any guesses on my roosters breed?

He’s very beautiful! The first thing I’ve thought was maybe Brahma and Dominque? Could be wrong.

    Clingy Newly Laying Hens

Is there a problem? I don’t see a problem, they all seem healthy to me! No, you don’t need to give special treatment to the layers. When they lay egg, they get really happy and sing a song. Sometimes some others will join in on the song.

Fox Attack! Hen in critical condition!

Mmmmm this is really bad. By “‘not in there’” you mean you don’t know if she’s still alive or not? I’ve dealt with dead chickens before, sadly, and if they are... dead... their body completely stiffens and their combs and wattles and just their general face is pale, all the color drained. Could...

    Pekins hatching eggs

You’ll also want her safe from any other predators. Larger birds, or raccoons, or even dogs. She may be hidden, but her smell is very well not! Also to keep her babies safe!

    Pekins hatching eggs

I don’t know much about ducks, but I think the hatching process is pretty much the same as chickens. Chickens usually only get off the nest 10-20 minutes a day for food water and dust bathing. Maybe try building the pekin a little nest box, easy. Search on YouTube just using a big container or...

What do you want to learn? I can help ;)

Technically, if you were actually somehow moving at the speed of light which is highlyyyy unlikely, I’m pretty sure that... the pressure of the spaceship moving so quickly will pin you down to your seat, and you won’t be able to move to turn on the headlights. So, either way, it would be...

What do you want to learn? I can help ;)

That is pretty strange... how often does she lay on eggs? There’s a couple ways to break a broody hen. You can start by trying to put an ice pack under her when she’s laying on the eggs. Or, separate her from the nest boxes, put her in a small metal crate like one you could use for a dog. With...

What do you want to learn? I can help ;)

As some of you know (very few haha) I love studying! About anything, really. I was about to go study now, so does anyone want to know anything? Specially chickens, but if you suggest something else, I’ll be sure to search up on that too! Any important questions, small questions, or even just...

    Question about hatching eggs

Does she leave for two hours every time? Broody hens are only supposed to leave for 10-20 minutes a day. Also, I don’t think hens really get broody in the winter because when their body temperature drops, it breaks the broody. That’s why putting an ice pack under a broody hen will break her.

Wait until the baby is full grown. Then, it’ll be ready to be picked on. Because older hens pick on new ones, if it’s a baby, it’ll probably die. If it’s full grown, it’ll either fight it’s way up the peckin order, or show signs of submission. It can only do that if it’s old enough. Hope this helps!
