    egg eating chicken

Interesting, never heard of chickens breaking eggs by stepping on them. You can not do much about the other hens eating the already broken egg, I have it happen on occasion. I think the hens just go after the bright color of the yolk. If you have problems with chickens pecking the shell to get...

4 week old Easter egger pullets or cockerals?

They look to me like pullets, but I haven't kept many of the EEs. You will be able to tell better in time.

    Feather Loss (Not moulting)

Then I wouldn't worry, my bird's coop has a decent amount of feathers "strewn" around in it. Not sure why, but the birds look good and seem content. So I would not stress it.

    Bantams wanted. South East PA

They have the special running now. Not sure how many I want. I think that I would rather have a better idea of what I am gonna get. But the price is so different for the special or the feathered-legs.

    Bantams wanted. South East PA

I am not sure if I would want to get the Feathered-leg bantam assortment, or the Special. I can get 25 specials for $31, while only 10 feathered for $34.

    Bantams wanted. South East PA

Do you have any idea what breeds are in that special ? They said "assorted", so I would not be sure exactly what I would get? So pretty random. Thanks again

    Best feed for broilers?

I was wondering what type of feeds are the best for broilers. Of course I want decent feed, since I would be eating/butchering them and would want to be confident in there food and it's ingredients. Thanks

    Homemade feeds? And what contents?

What brand of pellets would you recommend? We have been using DuMor lately. What about Home-grown feed? Since I want something that is closer to the natural side, but won't bust the bank or prove unethical.

    Homemade feeds? And what contents?

I am just starting to get interested in buying non-commercialiazed feeds for my birds. I was wondering what ingredients do I want for good egg laying and healthy chickens. I know that corn is not the best, but I was woundering what type of grains and other ingredients I should have in a more...

chicks show no interest in treats

I have noticed that chicks love items that move. I have watched multiple chicks chase ants, worms, and inchworms. They seem to eat them too. I know that my hens don't like broccoli, but love strawberry. Not sure if chicks are very interested in "greens". I also agree with h2oratt.
