I had this same problem with a duck I hatched about 10 years ago I had to take her everyday for about 2 weeks and spread her toes and help show her how to walk right and eventually they straightened out and she was perfectly normal, though I must say if you can figure out a brace that might work...
Yah the side with the heat lamp spiked to 110 the other side was around 95. Thank you it was really rough but on the bright side I have a batch of Anconas due in about 3 weeks hopefully they will do better
When I started this batch the temp was set to 101 qith an internal reading of 99.5 I check today and its barely above 90 in there I turned it up to 104 and the temp still hasn't gone up... I'm scared of loding all my eggs :( anyone having this same problem? Or any suggestions would be greatly...

I hope they do well for you!!! It was pretty sad yesterday and of course since I'm pregnant I cried for around 2 hours :( I have one left from this batch tp hatch, but I won't hold my breath as I didn't see any movement in this egg before lockdown... sadly yes this was a rescue attempt when we...
Update: he passed away in m hands just a few minutes ago... I had a temp spike in my brooder last night sometime after 1 am when I fell asleep, I got up at 5 and one side was 110 F so I adjusted the light to drop the temp but I fear that's what did it, yesterday he was walking around and pecking...
Well I will just be praying for yours from now on... Mine passed away in my hands a few minutes ago... The temp on one side of the brooder spiked high last night and I got up at 5 and made adjustments but I fear that's what did it. Yesterday he was walking and pecking at stuff and today he...
I believe its up to 72 hours they can survive eithout after hatch, I hope mine makes it and yours also... I'm keeping my fingers crossed and quacking a prayer for all of them :)
I have been holding him a lot I figured he was gonna imprint me since he's alone, I'm a stay at home mom so I have lots of time, the belly button closed but is still dark so I'm putting bacitracin ointment on it, he won't try to walk hardly at all today. We have a wilco farm store here so ill...
He'll take a sip if I dip his bill in by only one, he just lays down next to it after and takes a nap, I'm worried he's losing strength, yesterday he was banging all over the incubator... Now in the brroder all he wants to do is sleep, I'm really scared I'm gonna lose him and it was a journey...
I dipped his bill in and hell take a sip when I do that but only one sip I tried wiggling my fingers in it even splashing a couple drops towards him and nothing... All he seems to want to do is sleep, he's not even walking around much anymore :( he peeps a lot like he's super lonely too :( and...

Oh yes! So sorry I forgot to update!!! So this morning he had made no more progress towards getting out so I wetted the I nermembrane so check the veins and they had all referred so I slowly chipped away at the shell and outer membrane giving him enough room to get free much easier. (This was my...
Not sure about the breathing thing :( but I'm glad they are both still alive and well and you can monitor them, I never would have been brave enough to help a duck hatch a few years back when I had my first couple duck hatches but I'm so thankful for this site and these forums I have learned so...
